Erase your data

You can permanently erase the personal data linked to your Paw & Story account at any time — this is your GDPR right to erasure (Article 17). To protect you, we first email a confirmation link to the address below, so only you can start the deletion.

What we permanently delete

• Every photo and video you uploaded.
• Your generated memorial book (PDF) and tribute film.
• Any memorial pages and their sharing links.
• Your questionnaire answers, the story text, and your pet's details.
• Your email address, which we replace with a non-deliverable placeholder, and your Stripe customer identifier.

What we keep, and why

Hungarian accounting law requires us to keep the record of any purchase for 8 years, so that one record survives: the amount, the date, and the payment reference held by Stripe. We replace your email address with a non-deliverable placeholder and delete your Stripe customer identifier, and we keep the empty account row the record has to attach to.

We would rather be exact than reassuring: this is pseudonymisation, not anonymisation. The payment reference can still be traced back to you inside Stripe's own systems, so we will not claim the record is anonymous. Keeping it is permitted by GDPR Article 17(3)(b), which allows retention where it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.

This cannot be undone

Once you confirm, the deletion is permanent. Because your photos are irreplaceable, please make sure you have your own copies first.
